Nursing Home Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities: A Nursing Home Administrator must supervise develop, monitor, and maintain appropriate standards of care throughout all departments in the nursing home. It is very demanding job that requires effective communication, leadership, and business skills. Some of the responsibilities of a Nursing Home Administrator are to direct the activities of the staff, maintain the standards of federal and state regulations. Salary: Between $86,184 and $107,164 ($95,540) Education: A nursing home administrator needs a Master’s degree in nhs or a related health administration field, an internship/residency of at least 480 hours in a SNF or an ICF. And a Baccalaureate degree and completion of a NHAP approved AIT program of 1,000 hours. You must also pass both the state and national Home Administration Examination with a score of at least 75%. Reflection: I’d consider being a NHA.
