Operating Room Technician



Duties and Responsibilities: Operating Room Technicians, also known as Surgical Technicians, help in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, etc. As a member of operating room teams, a surgical tech helps by preparing the operating room, setting up equipment and also preparing the patient. During the operation, they observe the patients vital signs, check charts and assists the rest of the team.
Salary: (Average) $42,993 a year.
Education: To become a Operating Room Technician you must receive training from an accredited surgical tech training program and pass the National Certifying Examination conducted by the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting).

I would like to be a Operating Room Technician because i help in surgery and am part of a team full of trained professionals that i will respect.
