Student Success Staement(Lee)

Student Success Statement

“I think it better to do right, even if we suffer in so doing, than to incur the reproach of our consciences.”

Robert E. Lee

What Lee is saying is, it’s better to do what is right than to live with the guilty conscience you’d acquire from choosing the wrong. The physical pain is not worse than the mental pain you’ll suffer from doing wrong.

Student Success Statement(Woodrow Wilson)

Student Success Statement

"Tell me what is right and i will fight for it"

Woodrow Wilson

In this quote, former president, Woodrow Wilson is showing his dedication to choosing the right, by stating how he'll fight for it, once he knows it. Very noble words. In my point of view, one topic i strongly support is gay marriage. Although many don't supporter it, i see it as wrong for the law to try to say who can and can't get married. I believe the right thing to do is to make everyone equal and stop separating gays from being citizens who cant enjoy the full freedom of being American.

Student Success Statement(Margaret Chase Smith)

Student Success Statement

"The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character."

Margaret Chase Smith

What Margaret Chase Smith is saying is the right way may not always be the popular choice, but standing by the right, and going against the bigger force and sticking the right shows your strong morals and shows your dedication to doing the right. I agree with this, and many people face this daily, especially when faced with peer pressure to do drugs, or alcohol or other wrongs, they may feel pressured to do something just because many people are telling them to do it, even though it's wrong. And standing up against them and declining the wrong is always hard, but not regrettable
